I see women like this all the time at the makeup area of high end department stores, at the high priced salon my wife goes to, at fancy clothing stores at the mall and in places rich people hang out. These women need to look great and will do what it takes to be very attractive and fashionable. They need men to give them a second look. They know what it is like to be a woman, sexy and feminine. They can be vain, but dam, they look great and they know it.

Would YOU want a relationship with a woman like this?
i mean, ideally i'd want a naturally beautiful girl who didn't have to put any effort in.

i also want a pony.

but, in all seriousness, no it isn't an appealing personality trait, but it's better than having a woman who looks fat and sloppy.

A relationship? No, not someone whose every waking thought was consumed by how she looked.

I don't mind a girl who wants to look her best, but not to the point of becoming obsessive about it.

Such as, spending more than 15-20 minutes a day putting on makeup, always having to wear heels or fashionable outfits, being afraid to leave the house without makeup, being afraid to wear clothes that are comfortable but not fashionable or sexy, spending more than say, half her savings on anything cosmetic related, being obsessive about her weight, never eating anything other than rabbit food or weird diets.

Most importantly, that she has OTHER interests not related to looking good. When she hits 30-40-50 will she still be obsessing over youth? I'd rather someone who can kick back once in awhile, not be so uptight about looking good. Pig out on a hamburger once in awhile, get your hands dirty, be a human being, not a living doll...

No, give me an average looker who has a lust for life, enjoys other things, doesn't

Probably not. The crocodile's recent snoggathon went incendiary. He spent about a day nursing his lips with a lot of things as his crocoDDile's lipgloss, lipstick, or whatever the effin' chemical it is didn't have a positive reaction on his.

These days he goes straight for his favourite spots. Thankfully authentic vermont maple syrup and champagne sauce don't have any adverse reactions on his lips, though he gets complaints that it gets sticky, which he fixes in a few minutes anyway.

Also, I can't take a woman who outdresses me and runs away with all the attention.

And these glossy chicks run up extremely high credit card debts. One hairdo costs 200 bucks in the area. Nope. I make the right decisions and my balance sheet is always sturdy. These debt bombs are meant for the uppity 50 year old men who can shower them with gifts and use viagra or hire a stud for the job. That's pretty famous in the area too.

People actually spend more than 20 minutes on makeup????

Anyway, there are a lot of misconceptions in this thread. Girly girls also workout. Just because you go to the spa and watch your weight does not mean you don't kick back and have fun.

Also, there are a few parameters to draw upon:

1. How much she makes?
2. What's her income to debt ratio (especially with monstrous student loans) - corporate women fare the worst here, unless they are past 40 who are out of my interest range
3. How much she spends and where?
4. How frequently she goes clubbing and wining and dining (this is key, coz this is why most women get into debt, to buy the best nightlife dresses, shoes, blah blah blah)

These four will give a clear picture of which train wrecks to avoid. Two 100$ dates are nice. But after 12 months, the man will be broke.

On the other hand, the best resource pool to choose from - teachers, nurses, non-profit worker women - they know how much they make, they work late, they don't party at all or just a little, they live with room mates, they keep a budget. They may not look the best or be so glossy, but this is the safest investment resource pool EVER.

A lot of the women who look down on makeup, need it the most.
Why is it any worse for black women than it is for any other woman. I have never met a black woman in my corner of corporate America that didn't regularly wear makeup, and among my black girlfriends who dish with me about makeup, clothes, men, etc, I've never heard of makeup being a no-no.

Who on earth do you hang around? Tell them to zip it, cause it's none of their damned business.

I wear makeup. I don't wear too much of it, but I wear it very well.

I buy decent clothes for work and special occasions. My tastes for nicer clothes tend toward more expensive (better made) items. Especially shoes.

That said, my budget for hair and makeup is probably higher, as I don't like clothes shopping.

People who obsess over makeup, hair, appearance in general annoy me.

You and I know darn well it hasn't.

I get a lot more help from men dolled up than I do a la naturale.

My husband knew my expenses going into the deal. He's only made them even higher.
