And it would be an insufferably boorish and barbarous place if we only had alacrans and no andrews.
But he didn't tell you to change ...
Anyway the point is this thread is ridiculous and inappropriate for this forum anyway -- but a little comic relief is needed sometimes. We can't all argue over drug policy and dating in your 30s everyday.
I'm no prude. I certainly think bawdy talk does indeed have a proper time and place. This thread, however, isn't it, IMHO.
Thanks for the support.
I have a similar opinion about humor.
During my many visits to Chicago, I usually go to see a performance of Second City, in Old Town. ( I've probably gone at least 20-25 times). Originally, the shows were quite funny, and original, and with real flair for well-done group ensemble comedy. I've changed my mind about them recently,as their shows have gotten increasingly loud, and yes, a bit boorish at times. I wondered why, but then I realized that even the script writers/directors didn't appear to be much more than 25 themselves, so I knew that had to be the reason. The organist ( much younger than her predecessor) generally drowns out the singer (s) , and steps on half the punchlines, while the skits go on long past their expiration date. Louder, and more profane, doesn't equal "better"....
