Eh, don't let it get to ya man! Just realize it's all part of the game. You either deal with it or find someone that doesn't play the games. Most people are tied to their phone at the hip these days. This study suggest people on average check their phone every 6 minutes and upwards of 150 time per day:
Threads like this one make me feel out of place with my generation. I never had a cellphone and I will only get one if I absolutely needed one. The small buttons and the annoying buzzing sounds would make me furious.
If you're with somebody it shouldn't take 7 hrs to reply to a text. Unless you're at work, or driving, there's no excuse not to text a love interest back.
And if she's texting me....she better have an iPhone with iMessage, I need to make sure she read my text. I don't mess with girls with android and their green text bubbles....😒
Okay. Enough is enough. You clearly don't need to be trying to date anyone until you figure out how to deal with your other issues.
I agree with cady1316 when he says texting is a primary outlet of communication among many 30 and under. It is just becoming the norm. But with it comes an additional layer of frustration and confusion for those who subscribe to it. It seems like every poster who has started a thread in which texting plays a pivotal role in the story has been confused, frustrated, resorts to snooping, etc. The expectation for instant gratification is a bit childish. I don't know if there is a way to quantify this, but I'd be willing to bet a 28 year old today in average isn't as mature as a 28 year old from a generation ago. Most of the posters here complaining about texts come off as immature, childish, and insecure. That certainly goes for the OP. They do it to themselves, though.
One of my major red flags with women is a bad texter.
One of my major red flags with a man is the ego involved in expecting a woman to drop whatever she's doing just to respond to some useless, content-free speech as though whatever bounces forth from his thumbs is so earth-shatteringly important and intellectually scintillating that it should assume top priority in her life over all else, so I guess we cancel each other out.
I really think you're completely out of the loop with how younger people (mid twenties and below) communicate today. Whether the people of CD agree or not, text is the primary form of communication for this generation. It's the generation of instant gratification. I don't sweat a missed next here or there, but we all take note of response times and gauge interest levels by them.

Chill out killer, the OP has issues with text. Not all of us care that much about women's time frame for responses, but they are noted. So juvenile of me lol, noting that chick A is ultra responsive and chick B takes a day or two. Maybe I'll focus on chick A as she seems more interested in me. Oh geez, I'm such a tool
You could be describing me. Sorry, but I'm just...a bad texter. No, really, I get busy because I'm at work or whatever and forget to check my phone for 12 hours. I know it seems rude but I just can't remember to check the phone some days. The rest of the time it's in my hand constantly and I reply in .2 seconds like you said. It must give the impression that I'm ignoring a guy but I'm really not.
