If guys online are so undesirable, why do women do online dating? (attractive, personality)

So then why do you still go online and make a profile and then complain about getting hit on by undesirable guys?
Seems pretty counter intuitive...
I do pretty horribly at bars/nightclubs. Thus, I stopped trying to get with girls at nightclubs. If I do go, it would be with friends and I would never complain about lack of attention because I have already accepted the odds.
It's not true. There are gorgeous men online too. Some are antisocial or shy.In the past I found one who lives close to me. Never would of even met him if it wasn't for online.

I've met some pretty desirable men online to my surprise. I just didn't mean every guy that messaged me. Most of the time you can figure out the type of chemistry there will be before you even meet.

Reference the recent thread about 80% of men being found undesirable by women. No matter what, unless they went to a male model dating event (if they have such a thing) women are likely to find a large percentage of men unattractive at first glance, and with online dating they can afford to be picky and not give unattractive men to them a chance.
