I was wondering what the people of the forum think of Dr. Laura. She's pretty controversial at times. While I appreciate her efforts about protecting children, she seems to be a bit of a bytch. She gets all sarcastic at times, unnecessarily so, in my opinion. She also has a major problem with people not being married and "shacking" up. She has some pretty bazaar views of homosexuality as well. In her defense she does have a knack at getting to the root of the problem fairly quickly.

So what do you guys think??

She agitates me but you are right, she does seem to get to the root of the problems quickly but she could do it with a less caustic approach, IMO.

I find Dr. Laura to be vile and obnoxious. I can't even listen to 10 minutes of her self-righteous pompous, backward diatribes. If she had it her way, she'd set women back 200 years.

I never felt so repelled by someone over the airwaves like I do her. Even Howard Stern who comes in as a close second. She can hear one detail about someone and rush to judgment about them, reaming them, raking them over the coals and I'm thinking....how did she learn all that mess from "My husband doesn't want me sexually anymore"? I'd rather ask some stranger on the street for advice than her.

She was probably not a women's suffragette in a previous life, huh??

She's sure entertaining. When I worked at my previous office, I sat in my car and listened to her at lunch. No, I don't agree with all that she says. I think yes, many times she's a b*tch. She really hammers the single mothers.

LOL Actually, I'm usually the one giving advice IRL. I come here when I'm down and uploading music. It's so tedious, I need some entertainment while I wait.

I have no idea who this woman is, but reading her site it's pretty obvious she's a nut.

I think she's a shock jock and she does what she has to to get ratings. Unfortunately, I think she does more harm than good. According to her, I should have quit my job when my kids were born and let them starve. Oh wait, that's right I was supposed to ditch my husband and, marry Mr. Big Bux before having kids or become a radio jock so I could bring him to work with me You see, it doesn't matter if you actually pay attention to your kids, you just have to be under the same roof with them from the time they're born until they start school .

My mom used to say "if you wait until you can afford kids, you'll never have them.". Tell you one thing, we wouldn't have a population problem if everyone listened to Laura S (sorry her doctorate is not in psychology so I have a hard time calling her Dr. Laura WRT her radio show). There'd be no out of wedlock births and only couples who could afford for the wife to stay home would have kids. Of course this would result in women getting shallow. The only men we'd want to date would be ones with big paychecks. But that's not wrong in her book, is it?
