I was sorta drunk and, well, I was peeing outside near the dirt road when I heard this rustling in the bush across the road, and out comes this big ol' black bear lol Maybe 30 feet away.
Needless to say, the stream was stopped dead in its tracks. She sniffed around at me from across the road for a minute, and then sauntered away. Couldn't believe it. lol
And you told us the other bear story first? LOL...

Black bears don't tend to rush you unless their cubs are in tow. But, I probably would have fainted. All the what should you do info I researched probably would have gone out the window had I found myself in your situation. Now brown bears/grizzlies and polars, pointless to do much but flash to all you wish you should have accomplished befor the trip unless you have some major amo on you. LOL But then, I wouldn't enter those territories unless under duress being held by a kidnapper of something, then I'd have to pick my poison.
I grew up camping and never gave it much of a thought. And I think I posted about this before, but Chow and I took his mom camping one time, and, as Chow and I were laying in the tent, it suddenly occurred to me that we're like sitting ducks out there. But I was thinking more along the lines of a crazed serial killer, not wild animals, LOL.
LOL! Yes, those crazed killers enter the mind once and a while, especially during hunting season and you hear the guns going off in the distance.

Back in the late 70's early 80's with the Jaw franchise fully under the mental belts of teenagers everywhere, I was kayaking off the coast of Catalina as a kid and I see this dark object swim right under me.
I about **** my pants.
Not kidding.
A few seconds later this seal pops up out of the water about 10 feet from me, blinks a couple of times and looks at me for about 5 seconds and he takes off.
It was a rather strange moment for a 12 yr old boy.
Trees, cans....whatever. No critters. Don't worry.
Ok. We can continue to be friends then.
