I would make plans to go visit her, and if things don't work out, deal with your conscience later.
I will tell you one thing, if you do turn her down, you will probably not get another chance. Women that I know don't like to be turned down when they make a move like this...
My hangup is that if things don't work out, I'd feel sort of guilty for accepting such a generous gift.
Surely she is aware of that possibility and has made the offer nonetheless. Let go of your hangup about that and make your decision based on the answers to these questions: (1) do I want to go; (2) am I willing to spend the money to go (half the airfare plus other expenses)?
