My step dad is still in the hospital fighting Covid and it is just a wait and see period now. My mom is beside herself (of course). I am going over to her house again this afternoon.

I plan to get out and go for a drive this weekend. Jeff and I used to do that a lot and I feel that I need it. Hope you all have something nice planned for the weekend. Hugs to you
Yes a drive! One time I ended up wistfully gazing out at the sunset on Lake Superior. 5 hours. Shoulda planned ahead, but it was worth it.
In February I’m spending a week with my friend who’s taking in a rescue dog after her puppies are born!
You’ll be ok one day mlj1225. Just takes time.

Lake Superior would be amazing!

I think I will take Jeff's truck out on my drive. His energy is still in the driver's seat

Thank you for the encouragement

Sometime some music and Highway are therapeutic. Other times it’s roll the windows down and listen the turbo spool up and the diesel does its thing.

Today it was pickup and trailer hauling what’s left of a tree that fell in the front yard yesterday.

It would be flying for me. Fast and low over the ocean and then climbing through and above the clouds. Maybe a Little “Magic Carpet Ride” or “Ride of the Valkyries” playing on my headphones. Lol
I could be a fighter or Jedi Pilot or an Eagle. Just me the airplane and the sky.

You wouldn't get me on one of the little small Cessna type planes if you had a gun to my head. Those things are always dropping out of the sky.

I'm not afraid of flying in general, but damn, heard far too many news stories over the years about those small two or three seaters crashing, just heard a story on the radio a few days ago.

Lol... I get it Chow so I won’t go all cliche on ya.
I’ve been around flying and small planes since I was a child and I don’t think anymore of climbing into a cockpit that others do when climbing behind the wheel of their car. Pretty much the same rules. remember your training and don’t try to drive/fly above your skill level. “Pilot error” kills way more small plane pilots than catastrophic mechanical failures.

I was just thinking that comparing to commercial planes that they tend to not have the safety records, pilot error or not.

But have at it if that's your thing. Different views make the world go around.

Flying is something I have always wanted to do. Someday I hope to get it done.

Stearman. Tail dragger. You'll learn to land a plane when you fly with a tail wheel.

Good luck, and fly safely!

I wish I could afford a Stearman. They are a beautiful plane.
