I half started looking for a newer pickup. I have been looking for an F-250. I found a 2020 or 2021 for $45,000. Swell, crew cab, 4x4… Old fashioned crank up windows. I’ll pass.

Then I was driving my pickup today. It was running well. It was comfortable. It was fun to drive and it is paid for. That works for me.
I'm getting listings sent to me by cargurus.com. Im ready to leap when one comes in. The car market has changed big time the last month.

I agree (when the time is right for YOU). Life really IS too short. Grab it by the you-know-whats, if you are able.

I know someone who works at a dealership here in SE MI. Their lot generally has hundreds of cars. They are down to less than 100. I heard on the news that most people have to settle for what’s on the lot. (I imagine if a person has unlimited funds they can get what they want. I wouldn’t know about that. LMAO)

For giggles I priced out a Brand New 2022 Grand Wagoneer. The way I would like one was $81,000. Yikes. Then, I priced a new Grand Cherokee that is up one level from what I have now. That was $50,000. I will keep my ride, thank you.

In 2017, i bought a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo with the 4.0l- 6 cylinder engine/ 4x4, It has all the acc i need, for $4500. It was in like new condition. I wouldn't buy a new vehicle. They depreciate too much as soon as you drive it off the lot. Mine still looks good & drives real well.

My newest ride is a 2018 Grand Cherokee. It was more the miles or the lower miles that was my main motivation. I wanted something newer.

With the hail we get around here, I really do not want brand, brand new. However, having a newer ride sure is nice. I will keep my 06 pickup. I think I might upgrade the stereo to something that runs Apple CarPlay.

I don't ever plan on buy something brand new again, like mentioned they just take that big depreciation hit right off the bat. With the inflation starting to kick in and I'm hearing that there's a shortage of used cars now, I've noticed pricing going up big time from just a few months ago. I've been pricing things for a while now and cars that were around 23k or 24k I'm now seeing for 26 or 27, literally in just the last couple of months. I'm kicking myself for waiting so long.

There is no way that a Jeep is ever worth that much unless there is $35k of cash inside.

Personal preference; I’ve never been impressed by Jeep as a purchase option or even a rental option. One thing that scared me off is my best friend telling me she had to take a used Cherokee into the shop multiple times within months after she bought it and it matched up with what clients who I processed loans for told me about Jeeps they had.

I’ve almost been here for 2 whole years and I am still trying to sort of my grand parents “stuff”. I was up in the attic today and behind a bunch of boxes I found some guns. An old Walther’s PPK and an M1 Garand rifle… from WW2. I am taking the Walthers! Thigh gun! ( kidding)
I also found a rubber ( grenade launcher) butt pad for the Garand. It’s a heavy rifle! I could shoot it.. if it was braced on something. Lol
