Although, if it's any consolation, at her age (them being married 33 years puts her over 50 if she was 18 at the time of their wedding), it might be menopause, not pregnancy

Because she had sex with this other man, and feared she was pregnant. Don't hide from the facts, but you do need to decide what you're going to do about it as it sounds like this has been going on for a long time.
NJ, do you have any idea if she was having her menstruation period before all this started to happen? If not, she can't become pregnant, but that doesn't erase the other problem - infidelity.
You may want to confront her with what you know. Hopefully she will come clean. That even may be a relief to her, as I imagine she is also in emotional turmoil after this. That would be the starting point for what both of you decide to do regarding the steps you take.
As for the snide and pitiful comments about the sexuality of older women in previous posts, I have this to say. Some of your grandparents are still having sex and enjoying every minute of it. Will you be as lucky? Not with your current attitudes, as they will become a reflection of your future.
