Work is work I’m not going to NOT date someone because of their job choice.

It's not so much about the job as the person and mentality.

I absolutely hate the corporate world.

I see people who post that they love their jobs even though they are executive director or whatever, and you can tell those are the same people who whip me even though I'm busting my butt and same people who yell at contractors/companies they hire because of small misunderstadings.

I had someone chew me out on the phone, yelling, the other day for something that wasn't even my fault, it was just a misunderstading, and I said ... yea, that guy is the type of guy who comes on here and says he loves his job...

Not really. I've had two friends who were in long-term relationships with police officers who had wives, and I've known other married cops who dated women on the side, so it seems to me that cops have an even larger dating pool than most people.

But I would never marry one for that same reason. Not that this would be an issue for me, since most cops my age retired 25 years ago.

I would be an unlikely match for the following:

Culinary (unless vegetarian)
Politicians and their staff (or at least half of them)
Law enforcement

I would love to know why some folks wouldn't date certain professions.
So what does that leave you?

It'd take a mortician over the slaughterhouse guy. Or the guy that puts excess animals in the gas chamber. I wouldn't be able to deal with that. Not doing the hitman thing, either. One could find themselves being collateral damage.

And yeah, I do eat meat so I see the hypocrisy in not wanting to be around the guy who kills animals daily for human consumption. It's honest work, but being with someone who carries that aura of death all the time would be uncomfortable to me.

I wouldn't be able to date a politician, either. I'd need someone of good character, and anyone who has made it in politics had to have sold themselves out to someone (or more than one someone) to get there. A person of truly good character probably couldn't get past mayor of a small town.
