Every woman I've ever been with has taken food off my plate and often without asking. I've had women try it on a first date! The most annoying part is when I ask "hey, I'm going to go grab some takeout. Would you like anything?" and she says no she isn't hungry. But when I get home all of the sudden she's hungry and starts eating off my plate and sometimes asks if she can eat half. Of course I get irritated, then she acts like I'm the bad guy for not offering some of my food.
Most of my male friends have told me that their female partners do this as well, so it doesn't just seem like my bad luck.
Have you experienced this in a relationship? Do men do this as well?
Women are constantly trying not to eat in this body dysmorphic society. But we want to eat. Therefore, when the food is nearby, some of us want it despite what we said.

I've NEVER EVER done that.
Sometimes my husband and I will marvel at how good our food is, and offer a bite or two to each other, but I have never ever assumed it was OK to grab food off of someone else's plate without asking. And even then, I don't ask.
I might ask for a bite if the dish looks good, or maybe glom a french fry if I didn't order any, but I'd never demand half of something someone else ordered.
Are you unable to say .... I do not like it when you take food from my plate?
Oh, trust me. The conversation has been discussed many times. Two days after I had this conversation with an ex, this is what went down.
Me: I'm going to Five Guys for a burger and fries, want anything?
Her: No, I'm good. I'll just munch on your fries.
On another note, I wonder if this is generational. I've never had someone over the age of 50 complain about this. In fact, people of that generation are doing the opposite by trying to put more food on my plate. It could just be a sense of entitlement that some women of my generation have.

Maybe you should eat around the over 50 crowd or anticipate needs of your date and order extra. There is always the option of additonal booze instead of food:>) Keep a bottle or two on hand.
