My understanding of the Thai culture is that yes the women can be submissive but the man has to play his role. That includes bringing in plenty of money. The wifes role is to spend it on a big house and a car for her. So long as the male brings in the big bucks, then she will be submissive and maybe cook but she would prefer to use some of those buks to hire a cook and a cleaner. Do not think you are going to get a Thai woman to live in a trailer and be your sex toy.
BEWARE! Short story. I knew a guy who married a Russian girl. She was very sweet to him until about 6 months into the marriage. He had even brought her son over. She ended up calling the cops and lying and got him eventually thrown out of his own house. It cost him 3 lawyers, thousands of dollars and a year to get his house back! The poor guy was devistated. She also flooded the basement on purpose and did lots of other damage to his home! BEWARE GUYS!
To the OP - not to knock your male friends, or anything, but can you describe what these guys look like/are like? It may explain why they have to import their women....
A friend of my sons got 2 russian mailorder brides. Both used him to get into the country and then left him. He was a really nice guy, but uglier than a mud fence and not too bright.

I think that if I was too ugly/poor/daft to find a partner, I'd rather go with hookers, it certainly wouldn't cost me as much!
