All I wanna know is if there's a girl-fight, will it be "romantically" done with mud/oil?

Nah, oil's too hard to wash out of your hair and mud gets into spots mud shouldn't be. Jello's more like it. Do you prefer cherry or blueberry?

Reading a book does seem more benign than looking at actual pictures of naked people getting it on. Maybe men should try reading about sex instead of watching it. Might be more acceptable if they're the same. But you're right, they're not the same.

I find it funny that women read books while men look at pictures. [/quote]

And there we have it. Once again the behavior of women being given a pass because it is considered "benign". The mens behavior here is not only being deamonized here, but then the overall intelligence and attention span of men is insulted here as well. If a man wrote this very same statement and aimed it at women there would be the usual "sexist" name calling that would follow. The hypocrisy from some on this forum here is amazing.

Isn't reading fiction, whether it be romance, drama, suspense or fantasy-fiction, a form of entertainment/escape? Women are more romantically/emotionally charged, yes. But to think all those who read romance are all looking to get lost in the fantasy, have no grasp in reality or have no intellectual value is a bit much.

I love true crime and psychological thrillers. I'm not looking to feed a sociopathic desire to chop people into teeny little pieces.

I used to read romantic books. When I was young and stupid! Romantic films and books - make women think "Oh, why isn't my husband like that", it makes them dissatisfied with their lot. They want the fluffy, romantic dream not the down to earth reality. A friend of mine has been married 3 times. The 3rd wedding was a few weeks ago. She sent me the pictures, she looked lovely, flowers in her hair - long white swishy dress. So romantic. Then one of the pictures showed the REALITY - a 44 year old woman, still chasing a DREAM. Sad. Her previous husbands obviously didn't match up in some way.
I have not read a single romantic book for years and years and I think that romantic films are tosh!!!
Same goes for men who look at porn. It can often make them dissatisfied, it makes them look over the fence at the green (supposedly) grass. They look at their ageing wife and think "Cor, maybe I should trade her in..." forgetting she is ageing more rapidly because she has borne his children, cleaned his house and worked full time too!! She hasn't brought clothes for herselves - but her children. She has been unselfish. But her inner beauty means little to the porn addict - who only looks for the quick fix. I mean, how can he then gett into bed with his ordinary wife and get the high he gets from his pretty, young things. I think Porn is dangerous and vile.
