As an atheist who doesn't believe in a god, of course I don't have a "holy spirit" or any other spirit.
I do just fine with explaining things via science or personal observation.
One theory exists that states that spirits only exist in bottles, I leave those alone also. It also may not be entirely accurate, we often speak of spirited individuals, those who are energetic, zealous, actively alive, embrued with a sense of adventure, curiosity, and a sense of fun. Also, spirited animals, any good dog, or horse will be called spirited. Hawks, Eagles, Hummingbirds, Mockingbirds, and Crows, are examples of birds that are often considered spirited as well. Individual animals, as well as individual humans who show an elan in life, living with a sense of style and grace. Sometimes, the wind, itself almost seems alive and communicating with us. I suppose it would depend entirely upon ones' definition of "spirit".
If there weren't a god people would have created one. Though out the history of man, anything unknown or unexplained was attributed to one god or another. We still do this today but on a smaller scale thus one god. We don't a have a god for the sun and a god for the moon because we have a better understanding of our solar system.
Would Christians have a problem referring to God as "Goddess" or our "Heavenly Mother"?
