..the people who are receiving 90% of the tax cuts????
Luke 16:19-31
19"There was a rich man who was dressed in purple and fine linen and lived in luxury every day. 20At his gate was laid a beggar named Lazarus, covered with sores 21and longing to eat what fell from the rich man's table. Even the dogs came and licked his sores.
22"The time came when the beggar died and the angels carried him to Abraham's side. The rich man also died and was buried. 23In hell,[a] where he was in torment, he looked up and saw Abraham far away, with Lazarus by his side... 25"But Abraham replied, 'Son, remember that in your lifetime you received your good things, while Lazarus received bad things, but now he is comforted here and you are in agony.
Mark 10: The rich young ruler
and Jesus said,
Go, sell everything you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me." ....25 It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God."
Uh, maybe Bush is the anti-christ? Or would that be Cheney? Hard to choose.
I'd blame Ford. Ford = cheap cars = roads = needed highways = interstate system = commercialization and start of corporatism = 50 years later we are in a state of oligarchy/corporatism. Thus, Henry ford = bush giving tax cuts to the wealthy.
I'd say it's George Washinton who after his death made the executive decision to allow his face to be used on one dollar bills
Another reason to bash on the rich... because the Bible says it's easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than it for a rich person to enter the kingdom of God...
Why not just be concerned with your own life? Doesn't the Bible judge Christians more harshly than non-Christians because you are held at a different standard? Who cares about the rich? You should be concerned about your OWN soul... and- according to the Bible - let God be the judge... It is not anyone's place to condemn/judge the rich...
Well I for one find it amusing that the "Ultra-Christian party" is also the party that refuses to give poor kids health care and gives tax-cuts to the rich. That's part of why I'm not Christian, its too hypocritical.

Also, the small government party (used to be conservatives) supports a war that costs hundreds of billions. The pro-poor party (democrats) are pro-taxes.
Politics is full of hypocrisy's, religion has nothing to do with it.
And I'm an atheist , so it's not that I'm defending christianity.
Being rich is not a sin. The love of money (greed) is the root of evil.... not money itself or even having a lot of it. However, to whom much is given, much is required.
I am a Christian and far from rich. I'm not defending the tax cut, or Bush or politicians of either party. I'm just speaking a simple truth as I understand it.

Moderator cut: personal remarks
Oh really? Huh... Let me fix it then. Why do you care what the bible says since you don't believe it? Is this an attempt to simply stir the pot?
There were many rich people in the bible who were not "condemed". There is a difference between being "rich" and putting your trust in your riches. Jesus himself IMO was not "poor". He had a treasurer! (Judas) But again, I do realize you don't care about that...but figured I'd mention it for the "viewers".
Being rich is not a sin. The love of money (greed) is the root of evil.... not money itself or even having a lot of it. However, to whom much is given, much is required.
Exactly... there's nothing "sinful" or evil about being successful, and having a comfortable life. What's bad is when they don't give back, or become greedy and spoiled as a result. I was raised in a wealthy family, but my parents instilled good values in us, and ALWAYS stressed the importance of charity. We call it "tzedakah" in Hebrew, and it's not only suggested of Jewish people, but required by Jewish law. Not that we wouldn't be generous otherwise, but it does remind us to give regularly. Ironic that Jews are stereotyped as being cheap, when we're probably more generous than the overall population.
P.S. The tax issue isn't the fault of the rich, it's the fault of the government... we don't ask for tax cuts, they're given by our illustrious president & congress!
