When are we going to get to the part that proves God was created by man? We have over 500 posts already and I'm starting to get impatient!
Katz, I hope you know I have a great deal of respect for you.
And I hope you know that I can do so while still thinking your beliefs are - to be generous - difficult to accept as true.
But I am capable of separating the beliefs from the actions of the person - and it is the actions that matter to me.
You are a good person trying to do good things. That you do so in honour of a god I don't believe exists matters not.
What's important is that you walk the walk of a person who cares about others and who believes judgement - if it is to be administered in the afterlife - is the providence of one wiser than we.
Proving that God doesn't exist is like proving purple 6 legged aliens don't live in a dimension we can't see in the middle of the black hole at the center of the Milky Way . No one can really prove they don't, and if people are going to choose to believe they do and challenge you to disprove their ideas there not really anything you can offer to change what they want to believe if they are determined to believe without evidence .
She didn't ask that, wallflash. She asked for the evidence that man created God.
She didn't ask that, wallflash. She asked for the evidence that man created God.
Which I guess I didn't exactly get around to addressing in the post above...
But quite frankly, I think a quick perusal of the bible is all the evidence one needs that THAT particular version of god is definitely a man-made construct. It behaves entirely like a spoiled, psychotic, murderous brat rather than some admirable, greater-than-human god-thing.
It's even more self-centered and narcissistic than the Greek, Roman and Norse gods - and equally unbelievable - to some of us at least.
Jeff, you don't mind using the "appeal to popularity" argument in favor of Christianity. So if it's true that scientists believe evolution simply because lots of other scientists believe it, what's the problem? Why the double standard.
So instead of giving me a counter-argument, you make this kind of pointless jab comment which serves nothing to the discussion. I'm tired of it.
I can't make a counter argument when I don't understand your argument. Your thinking is twisted up in knots.
