If you had bothered to click on the links and read the documents (which I know you do not like to do), you would realize that the problem was not that a Bible club existed. The problem was the promotion of the Bible club over other clubs, and the level of involvement of the principal and teachers from the school.

Obviously there was at least one parent of a student in that school who did not want it. Which you would already know, if you were willing to read before commenting. But alas, you are not.

Atheism is a religion like not stamp collecting is a hobby.

Or that community can actually follow the constitution, even if YOU think your interpretation beats 70 years of jurisprudence.

Where is any of the following?
  • Distinct legal existence
  • Recognized creed and form of worship
  • Definite and distinct ecclesiastical government
  • Formal code of doctrine and discipline
  • Distinct religious history
  • Membership not associated with any other church or denomination
  • Organization of ordained ministers
  • Ordained ministers selected after completing prescribed courses of study
  • Literature of its own
  • Established places of worship
  • Regular congregations
  • Regular religious services
  • Sunday schools for the religious instruction of the young
  • Schools for the preparation of its members

Well?

Well?
Accusing atheism of being a religion is an Abuse system. I find it quite diverting that perhaps number 3 of insults to hurl at atheism is...that it is a religion.

Whooo that hurts us!!

Lol...Brea, CA, where the school is located, is chock full of conservative Christians and churches. There is even a branch of a Christian theological college. If the FFRF is out to destroy Christianity in Brea, they're facing an uphill battle. Which they would lose because the Christians in Brea have more money and power than the FFRF.

Trying to make sure the Constitution is followed does not equal trying to destroy Christianity, Jeffrey. It's a ridiculous conclusion on your part. If you think the Constitution should not be followed....don't pack up and move to Brea. That'll get you called a commie in Brea. (Which serves to illustrate just how out-of-bonds the school officials promoting this club were.)
