You can't be a mass shooter and claim to be a Christian. The two are not compatible. A relationship with Jesus Christ creates more empathy for people, not a desire to hurt them. It's a downright silly comparison.
So what you are saying is they are a true blooded christians up until that first bullet stakes its victim, right?
Do you not understand that this is why you should make the best of the life you know you DO have?
Every single minute, every single day.
If thinking you have some 'extra help' with a god while you're in this one is fine and dandy but spending this one hoping a doubtful other one is coming is, as you said to me earlier, illogical.
Even if the world is no more, which is really doubtful....maybe just the world as we know it...it may continue, just without humans. And as with many extinct species, 'we humans' may be just a blip.
I disagree. When this world exists no more, which will eventually happen, nothing will matter.
I don't doubt you're a really good person, jimmiej, but the world existed before you were born( as far as you know, right?) and it will most probably continue after you die. Contribute what you can while you're here and stop worrying about yourself........doesn't that go against everything you propose, usually ? Like worrying about MY soul?
In the short term, sure, but eventually, it will not matter.
That's true jimmie, but why does it matter that it won't matter?
That this life, our existence, the love I feel for my wife and kids, the beauty I see in a sunset/ocean/mountains/music/etc. will eventually mean NOTHING is not only illogical, it’s incredibly SAD.

Did it mean anything to you before you were born? Why would it mean anything after death? I have a video of me and the family filming a very beloved dog that has long passed away. In it I say we will be glad to have this video when he is gone. It is a reminder that I will be that dog someday, while my children and grandkids are still enjoying family and sunsets. I will live passed my death through YouTube videos and families memories, but logically, when my brain goes, I go.

But eventually, when our sun burns up, it will be meaningless. This is what you propose, with your atheistic view. I will never understand that viewpoint.

Don't mope over the half empty glass but celebrate that it's half full. Death is sad - I'm looking it in the eye right now..well, it's looking over the garden fence and it's sad only that there's so much I won't be able to do or see or learn. But eternal life isn't that great and you are doing your kids no favours by wishing it for them or -far more tragic- wasting this one marvellous life - extended thanks to science from thirty to sixty average fretting about a future one that some con -men have told you that only they have the ticket concession for.
Get, jimmy, mate, a life, while you still can. It's probably the only one you get.
