Mark 11. 22 “Have faith in God,” Jesus answered. 23 “Truly, I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them. 24 Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours."

(some Mss contain the small print "That's if God thinks that you should have your prayer granted)

Anita Moorjani, who recovered after chemotherapy, but somehow did not recover her health for several months?

I’m pretty certain you have done things in your life that God wouldn’t be thrilled with so he isn’t going to come gunning to your beck and call.
Or man invented the science that allows doctors to treat people, and your god does not answer prayers because it may not exist.

Trout did say he was talking about the fundamentalists (who you are also attacking with the above (as they do not really believe in unconditional love, kindness and forgiveness for people)).

No, we are trying to stop the fundamentalists burning society to the ground with all the fighting and intolerance. But just like Ozzy, you are siding with the enemy.

You are defending people who ruined other peoples lives and careers, even though the victims did nothing wrong.

In Scripture gospel writer Luke was a physician.
God answers prayers regarding matters of faith.
It was Satan who challenges all of us.
Satan says ' touch our flesh...' ( loose physical health ) and we would Not serve God - Job 2:4-5.
Both Job and Jesus under adverse conditions proved Satan a liar and so can we.
So, in the bigger picture God's sovereignty is what is involved.
While on Earth Jesus healed people, thus Jesus was giving us a preview, or a coming attraction, of what he will do on a grand-international scale during his coming 1,000-year governmental rule over earth begins.
Revelation 22:2 informs us that the Genesis ' tree of life ' will be returned to mankind for the purpose of ' healing ' for earth's nations. This is why we are all invited to pray the invitation of Rev. 22:20 for Jesus to come !
Come and bring the blessing benefits of healing to earth's nations as described in the 35th chapter of Isaiah.

We need to keep in mind that Jesus was Not talking about any literal mountain but rather mountain-like obstacles.
For example: there would be great obstacles in opposition to what Jesus said at Matthew 24:14; 28:18-20; Acts 1:8.
So, in order to accomplish spiritual works one would have to overcome big hurdles, so to speak, and through prayer one would find a way to help accomplish the international spiritual work of proclaiming the good news about God's kingdom of Daniel 2:44 to even remote areas of earth just as Jesus said it would be done and is being accomplished today.

Before I answer that one I have to ask: do you believe that Jesus cussed the fig -tree and it withered the next day (or dropped dead on the spot, according to Matthew), which is the practical proof of what Jesus says - that ask anything in faith and prayers will be answered that would not normally happen without divine intervention such as causing a letter to come back out of a letter -box (because you forgot the stamp, or changed you mind about sending it) into your hands or a roof tile that fell off your roof (letting rain in) will fly back to where it came from: things that would not harm anybody and are not as unreasonable as uprooting mountains, but not as everyday as finding your car -keys or a parking space?

Or is it just a metaphor for having determination, such as one might be able to muster in other religions, or none?

That's not true at all. I know her personally. She didn't just "recover" after chemotherapy. If you read her book you would know that.

The only people Jesus had a problem with were the religious who thought themselves better than everybody else. Whited sepulchres full of dead men's bones. He said it. We didn't.

Exactly how is it improving? We have a prison population that is overflowing. A drug crisis because people have no hope without Christ. A suicide epidemic. Plus other social ills like sex trafficking. People are so isolated in their own cellphone social media bubble. Gone are the days when neighbors would sit on the back porch together in the evening. We've created a culture that is too busy.

A few generations ago, communities were tight knit. And if a neighbor got sick, you went and helped out with their farm. It was the good Christian way of life. Look at the Amish. They adopt a similar lifestyle and seem to be some of the happiest stress free people in America.
