I never said that he could not be a racist. I simply don't see the point he could we making to support his cause by quoting a book he doesn't believe in. If you read my post you should have gleamed that the first time.
Answer why atheists quote from the bible a lot, then the point will be revealed to you like a miracle.
Stay on topic, and this is my last response to you. Check the thread topic you are responding to. There is no evidence that he is Christian nor Atheist, he can be anything. there is no evidence. Just like for god - no evidence as atheists know so well.
This topic claims a Christian defends slavery by quoting something Jesus said.
The OP has given no proof that he is Christian and not an Atheist.
One can as easily say the man is atheist because he is quoting the bible to support an evil, and it will be right.
Get back on topic.

The sad thing is, this is yet another example of the non-Christians controlling the message. A guy quotes the Bible, so the assumption is he must be a Christian. Nevermind that it's out of context, wrongly used. But there is absolutely no discernment used to question what the guy actually believes, or if his beliefs are at all consistent with what Christianity has historically taught.
It's interesting to me when christians get in a tizzy when they can't "control the message".
That is irrelevant, the topic is not whether slavery is evil, it is. The topic is is the man a a Christian? By saying he is , the ststement paints all Christians as racists. He could be an atheist who knows how to quote from the bible to support any position. We dont know. Neither does the OP. This just slander.

I'm seeing the term 'racist' being used a lot here. Thread topic; Christian defends slavery in public hearing and he is shown quoting the bible to do so. Whether or not he is a Christian is being challenged which is fair enough. What I seem to be seeing on this thread are very few Christians standing up and condemning slavery and the man for using the bible to defend it. I am also seeing a lot of excuses for why the bible supports slavery.

But where does racism fit in?
Several points.
A few Christians in CD do not make up the universe of Christians.
The man quoted Jesus. I have not seen evidence that Jesus actually said that.
Anything else bible said is the text, not Jesus.
Diverting this thread to argue about the right and wrong of slavery is off topic. That is not the point of the title which is slander because there is no evidence he is Christian.
Anybody can quote from the bible. Atheists do it all the time. They can also easily quote the OT, NT, the 613, (a whole thread!) the vedas, and what not.
So why do think he cannot just as easily be an atheist?
Racist because he wants to presrve a racist ideology by not changing the name of the school. What do you think he is?
No matter how many volts are sent its way, a dim bulb won't get bright.
