A new skull discovery made in the African republice of Chad now has Bernard Wood, of George Washington University, Washingtone DC, now suggesting that this new discovery is giving strength to the arguement that humans (DID NOT EVOLVE IN A LINEAR PROGRESSION FROM APES THAT ROAMED THE PLANET 10 MILLION YEARS AGO.)

This same discovery, also has the Editor and paleontologist Henry Gee of Nature magazine saying, and this is a quote.

Whatever the outcome, the skull shows, once and for all, that the (OLD IDEA OF A MISSING LINK IS BUNK...) It should now be quite plain that the very idea of the missing link, always shaky, is now completely untenable.

The theory of Evolution is collapsing before our very eyes, and soon, those who have embraced this theory will be like soldiers on the field of battle. Only to discover, that their commanders and generals have left them alone on the front lines. And alone, they will try to defend a theory that is also untenable. Their old beliefs, and old ideas will be like so much watered downed ammunition. That ammunition gave them a feeling of safety, until is was revealed, that it was useless when needed.

So what, other than the fact that this skull found in 2002 (old news) dated at 7 million years old, puts another nail in the coffin of the bible. What exactly do you think a "missing link" is anyway? Unless we find a fossil of every creature that ever lived, there will always be "missing links"

Nobody is even sure that this skull is human... (From your link)... Professor Colin Groves, from the Australian National University's Department of Archaeology and Anthropology, was equally enthusiastic about the discovery, but less convinced the skull is human. He places Toumaï at the point in evolution before humans and chimpanzees diverged, believed to be around five million years ago. One reason for doubt is Toumaï's small canine teeth.

Sahelanthropus tchadensis (Toumaï) is a fossil hominid that lived approximately 7 million years ago. Its position in the Hominid evolution is not widely accepted. Sahelanthropus tchadensis - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I find it interesting that you of all people would attempt to use something like this (science) to refute evolution.

Some paleontologists are also suggesting that people may not have originated in Africa. They are leaning toward Asia now. That is my thing - any theory should be treated and taught as just that. How long did we teach the "Earth was Flat" before some one disproved. I just get so aggravated at people accepting theory as truth and teaching the bunk in our schools.

You do not understand how science works, do you?

Never. It was disproved in ancient Greece, well before schools as we know them.

This may be because you do not know the definition of the word "theory" in a scientific context.

Quote:
A scientific theory is a well-substantiated explination of some aspect of the natural world, based on a body of facts that have been repeatedly confirmed through observation and experiment. Such fact-supported theories are not "guesses" but reliable accounts of the real world. The theory of biological evolution is more than "just a theory." It is as factual an explanation of the universe as the atomic theory of matter or the germ theory of disease. Our understanding of gravity is still a work in progress. But the phenomenon of gravity, like evolution, is an accepted fact.
So says the US National Academy of Sciences.

You are aware that "the missing link" is a phrase invented by journalists, not scientists, right? It's not as if there's one single transitional fossil that's "missing", and paleontologists aren't scrambling around the world to find it.
