There are quite a bit of people out there, who know no better, some, his followers and some are just other Christians OR Christianity influenced folks who actually either believe his statement or express something similar. On the bottom line, they say the same thing. They claim that god just and judges sin and since Haiti was clobbered and god is in control, Haitians must have done something wrong to deserve it Pat Robertson just happened to fill in the blanks. Just next door, we have some [universalist] Christian over there claiming that because EVERYONE will be "saved" in the end, god just did what he had to do but there should be no great weeping going on because all those Haitians are going to be saved in the next life.
I sort of agree with you on this, but to me, the jerks to really go after and "diss" are these so-called "relief" agencies that are fleecing the public, they hustle for donations, none of it actually gets to people in need. People that would try to profit off misery of this disaster (or others, Hurricane Katrina had plenty of those phonies is one one good example) should be drawn and quartered, and I don't know if I mean that figuratively or literally. Even in more mundane circumstances, I used to get at least one call every 2 weeks or so claiming to be asking for donations for retired police pension funds, etc. The local sheriff told me that calls like that were not authentic, they had their own pension plans (as if I couldn't figure that out myself). I told one "solicitor" he was one fake s.o.b. (yes, sometimes, shamedly, Christians use 4 letter words), he told me "how dare you", I told him I would call the REAL police and have him traced and would stick my hand through phone line and yank his tonsills out. Not a very gentlemanly or Christian way to act or talk, but not one of those fake jerks ever called me again. Anyway, Peace and have a great evening.

There are other forums where they get 'drawn and quartered.' This is a forum where a guy like Pat Robertson would be in the spotlight when he opens his rear and talks. In a sense, there are some who would call him a hustler in his own right who fleeces the public under the banner of religion, but that's another subject.

Pat Robertson seems to have never met a natural disaster he did not like. We know what he said about Katrina. We know what he said about killing a standing president in another country. In a lesser known incident where the school board in the town of Dover, Pennsylvania voted to remove a subtle introduction of "creationism" into their school, he essentially threatened them with natural disaster which he felt god would send upon them.

Tell that to the Jews about the Holocaust. Yes, we will move on, but his comments are STILL relevant as long a people are still trying make excuses for the guy.
I am not making excuses for him IndaneInDaMembrane. I agree with you and others that what he said was wrong.. I am angry at it just like you, but we can do nothing to stop it because the words have already caused damage. All I am saying is we need to move on, let God deal with the man, trust that God will take care of it and let Him do His job.

So please stop calling me names. You said on another thread that you don't call people names.... Hmmm?

It is true Freedom, Christian and Religion are two different issues, just like Christian and "Follower of Christ" is often two issues as well. It all comes down to a personal relationship with Christ and is not about Religion. So possibly you have your forums mixed up.

As well as Muslims, Jews, atheists, Socialists, Hindus and so on.

Um...no. It's because of people checking Pat Robertson, a BETTER understanding of Haitian history, who they ARE and who they are NOT is making headway into the consciousness of formerly IGNORANT people who believed this skewed lie for hundreds of years. I am thankful (in a sense) he made this asinine comment because it has presented the opportunity to give Haiti and Haitians a fair shake and NO, I wont stop because, not just here, but on Facebook an other places, there are STILL folks talking this BS in some form or fashion, often disguised.
Bottom line: If you don't like what is happening, what was said and if you want to help..go do something about it instead of whining on some forum in the comfort of your warm home.

Yes.. Robertson made a huge mistake, but there are hundreds if not thousands of people being led to help Haiti... I won't even use the term Christian as I understand that you take offense to that word since Robertson claims Christianity.

What I am trying to say is "Love covers a multitude of sin". Yes one man made a mistake, a hurtful mistake, but how many mistakes are you making but ripping him apart and causing hateful dissention on this thread? "He who has no sin cast the first stone".

Raelyn, do me a favor. Send me the money or point me to a way I can get to Haiti FREE of charge and I will leave on the first flight your donor can put me on. Until then, I'm here.

No I don't nor do I. I was simply pointing out that people of OTHER faiths, walks of life and even those WITHOUT faith in any deity are down there helping as well. Christians don't have a monopoly on helping out down there.

Well this lambasting will hopefully prevent others from making some stupid comments in the future because they will be too embarrassed to even utter such nonsense.

I find this statement you made of some interest...If we take sin or Evil and apply it over say the history of Humamkind...
If we apply the biblical references as to what is Sin...in accordance to the laws of God, and how we are suppose to live..(Sharing the givens and multiplying them)...we can address something that seems to be eternally reborn in the flesh as SIN or EVIL.

If everything dies...then what is it that SIN and EVIL continue to this day?

I believe in the Holy Spirit, and God, and the Son of God.

"Do no more sins and be forgiven"
Undo what was done to bring SIN to us.
Genesis speaks of the Garden paradise called EDEN...Why can't we make that in peace health and happiness?...and put back what was taken in disobediance , so we can move forward with God and seed new worlds with all Life in toe?

EVIL and SIN are abounding...and the laws of God are being broken..

Will the Earth shake because of it?

YES!

There will be woe and wrath and plagues, and pestilences, and Earthquakes in various places, as a sign of the comming of the lord.

"Let the Evil be Evil, the filthy be Filthy, the Holy be Holy, and the righteous still do right, my rewards are with me"...Jesus said.

Now you can say what ever you want...But many are starting to see that God and His son have spoken before hand what is now taking place.
Faces and bodies of Old people have been reborn...and Jesus also said this would be so...So we all could bare witness to the greatness of God, and come to his judgement, which is true Judgement for ALL LIFE.

Yep ALL LIFE must be Judged...be they alive or dead!

And so...that which is high will be made low,,,and that which is low will be made high.

America and the rich nations, are being burdened, and drained of their presumed wealth, with the cost to clean up the mess they have created by breaking God's Laws in the world!

That is what I say....and I'm usually right about what I say, when I SAY IT.

So you're blaming the United States for an earthquake in Haiti? That doesn't fit very well with you usually be right about what you say.

Free of Charge?? There are many organizations Christian and Non that would be happy to allow you to volunteer, pay your way or whatever. Have you looked? No I doubt it because you are too busy bashing Christians on the forum...
