In 1780 Haiti under French rule was one of the wealthiest regions in the world! (Cotton, sugar cane, coaco, coffee) but West Africans introduced
voodoo and animal sacrifice. In 1791 a rebellion led by Boukman Duffey at Bois Calman led slaves into a pact with the devil sacrificing a pig and
drinking it's blood allegedly in exchange for a victory over the French. (The French were brutal to the population). Anyway countless scholars of religion over the centuries believed Haiti was cursed as they fell into poverty and this is what Dr. Pat was eluding to ( which I wish now he wouldn't have) Yes we were al cursed by Adam and eve (pain in child birth, food now must be grown in the ground with much toil (Gensis). You can be cursed from a great great grandfather who was evil (three and four generations ) This curse is generational. Anyway I don't condone Pat's statement but he discusses things supernatural that most audiances are not prepared to comprehend especially unbelievers who are as clueless as a bird when "anything scriptural or the impact of God's potential wrath is discussed" thinking God is love and fuzzy when in fact where real evil exists God will destroy you in the blink of and eye. An example is the leaders of Iran are eventually leading a great people into the abyss whereby more than half of their population alone with
12 other Muslim countries, who will "try" to attack Israel and God will destroy every single attacker. Opps I as bad as Dr. Pat (I let the cat outta the
bag.) ......forgive me....Das

Well then why don't you join one of the hundreds of Christians who are going there to aid those poor souls. I am sure those in Haiti are really appreciating the love and support of the Christian churches and people volunteering and helping. There is much support at my local church. Pat Robertson made a huge mistake, get over it and start helping then.

What a hateful pathetic thread... Sad that people are so quick to judge.. mmm I wonder what Jesus would say.. Maybe something like, he who is without sin cast the first stone.

I agree that what Robertson did was wrong but we need to move on people.. God will take care of Pat...

Rather meant to say Italy has earthquakes too [omit that one 'major' event oh so many years ago]. The point is that Italy has earthquakes and the people there are NOT devil worshippers [I suppose there could be a few out there]. They're just as devout a Catholic as Pat Robertson 'claims to be' and yet, they still have earthquakes and still continue to pray.

italy still has earthquakes - Google Search=

Seismic activity is relatively common in Italy, but the intensity of the earthquake on Monday was rare. It was the worst in Italy since a 6.9-magnitude earthquake struck Eboli, south of Naples, in 1980, killing more than 2,700 people.

If Pat Robertson, moved into tornado alley, would that mean those people will never have to worry about a tornado wrecking havoc on them?

Sad, isn't it? Guys like him study religion and all of a sudden they know what the devil and God are thinking.

You really believe this nonsense, don't you? I mean, seriously???

Please show me a list of the 'countless scholars over the centuries' who believe this ALLEGEDLY happened?

Did these former slaves call out Lucifer's name for all to hear? Did they mention the name "satan" in French when they were having this voodoo ceremony or was it because they MAY HAVE called on the name of the gods of THEIR fathers and not the white French god is where the problem lies?

Someone must have sent you the wrong memo stating that unbelievers are clueless as a bird.

What does this have to do with what I posted? You think I would not be in Haiti right now if I had the means? I am FROM the Caribbean and I grew up with Haitian friends on St. Thomas, was cared for by a Haitian woman as a young kid, lived amongst and worked with Haitian people in South Florida for 20 years. I would LOVE to go because they are MY regional peoples too. Find me a way to get there and I'll go. Thank you!

As well as Muslims, Jews, atheists, Socialists, Hindus and so on.

Um...no. It's because of people checking Pat Robertson, a BETTER understanding of Haitian history, who they ARE and who they are NOT is making headway into the consciousness of formerly IGNORANT people who believed this skewed lie for hundreds of years. I am thankful (in a sense) he made this asinine comment because it has presented the opportunity to give Haiti and Haitians a fair shake and NO, I wont stop because, not just here, but on Facebook an other places, there are STILL folks talking this BS in some form or fashion, often disguised.
