Securing the crane be BE the problem.

I have seen construction cranes left spinning in high wind. That is a bit un-nerving too. But it can result in lower 'side load' stresses to the tower and boom.

light rain and hopefully just that. Snow in the Western part of the state and rain still at the beaches. Thought it would be gone and over. The storm is a monster, impacting Detroit.

Other than high winds and rain, my area of New England has been pretty much spared. So grateful to have electricity on this morning. 300,000-400,000 in MA without power (most toward Boston).

The devastation in NY and Conn appears massive. Besides serious flooding there was a raging fire last night in Queens that destroyed some 50 homes, the photos of flood and fire are heartbreaking. Millions without power and shut down systems. MSNBC seems to have the best report this morning in summary for NY.

Mathjak, I hope you and others in NY are okay.

Glad to hear you're ok and have power. Wonder how many other people here still have power? New Jersey seems to be a total disaster. Robyn

It's a good bet Mathjak is without power. If he had power I think he would have posted here by now.

Edited a few minutes later to add: Oops, I stand corrected and I'm glad of it. Thanks for the pics, Marthjak.

out shooting photos all morning. was out since the sun came up.

we went down by the bayside marina over by the cross island parkway near the throggs neck bridge here in nyc .

we live 2 blocks away . thankfully we had no damage by us as close to little neck bay as we are.

here are some pics ,the jogging path area was devastated as well as there were down trees and debris all over the cross island parkway. thats a three lane highway with those trees.

at high tied the water was over the parkway.
