Dazzling photos all. As a graphic designer I'm impressed with composition and visual dynamics in all of these. I assume everyone posting these great photos is copyrighting them and offering them for sale to publications? (Photos online can be stolen.)

all photos are automatically copyrighted by law . you can gain additional damages by actually paying and filing each one but most do not bother. damages are very difficult to prove so even when stolen there is not much you can do.

copywrite protection and media law is so complex today that the law firm my son is about to be a partner in maintains an entire department just for media law.

the only thing they can steal from mine is a web image as they are low resolution.

i had someone steal not only my photos from city data but my comments about the techniques i used and posted them on another site as his own.

he got caught when the webmaster of the site contacted me since the links to the photos had no links anywhere to his screen name just mine.

being an amateur i was more impressed than angry, lol....

i saw him posting on city data one time and notified the powers to be and they blocked him.

i do sell images on line but i don't relly promote it, perhaps when i retire i will.

what i thought was actually worse was marilyn and i went on to the walkway across the george washington bridge 3 weeks ago.

oh man the cars below looked like ants and the bridge was swaying and vibrating in some very powerful winds.

i don't know the science behind the winds but once you clear ground up there and are over the water the winds hit 50-60 mph.

to be honest i got a few shots and chickened out and went back.

of course i blamed it all on the fact my wife was scared but the truth is she wanted to go on and it was me. i just don't like height.

if you want to see some shots from there i will post them.

Since you all may someday visit the Great Smoky Mountains National Park which is not too far from where I live, I'll post a few from Cades Cove in that park, now. Cades Cove has an auto loop and it's usually bumper to bumper with tourists in the Fall but sometimes you hit it just right. These were taken 2009 - 2011. I take mostly bird photos these days but maybe this thread will inspire me to take some photos around town.

here you go:

you can see how high you are with a skinny little guard rail that is just above stomach high at the edge of the bridge.

the real great shots i wanted were the bridge itself which is a work of art.

security will not let you photograph the bridge.

Do people ever jump off that bridge?

All the time. In fact they have a sign with a circle and a line through it that says no jumping.

You think people would read the sign.

They even give you a phone number to call if you are going to jump.

I bet it is out sourced. Ha ha ha

Press one if a jumper, press 2 if taking pills.
