I'm think of part time in England and English is spoken here, so no language problem. It has been an exciting place to be in the summer. The only problem I have is I might have to give up gardening in the summer, which I thought I was going to do when I retire. Darn!
Have you bothered to look into visa requirements for those countries, or are you just enamored of posting picturesque videos of city skylines?
The latter, except in the Philippines which I have some knowledge of being my birth country. I must admit I am accustomed to high-rise living so that is my comfort zone. Add the fact that in looking at other countries, there are many restrictions on owning land but no restrictions in buying into a high-rise unit.
So what can you say about the visa requirements of the 2 countries? Oslo came up because a friend of mine just came back from a trip there.
I'm think of part time in England and English is spoken here, so no language problem. It has been an exciting place to be in the summer. The only problem I have is I might have to give up gardening in the summer, which I thought I was going to do when I retire. Darn!
I also don't want to do gardening/yard work anymore. All the pruning and the replanting are bad for my spine but also want to enjoy life more by sleeping or just strolling around. Something light for my body.
That is why for me, it is nice to be in a place where there are beautiful parks nearby. That's going to be my garden. And I don't have to maintain it (or maybe I do by way of tax or HOA)

I hear you. I live near beautiful parks too. But I have caught the gardening bug since my first kid was born. When I wake up, the first thing I do is go out to check on my garden. The fruits and vegs are my babies.

Why do you have to give up gardening in the summer if you stay in England? We had just returned from a 17-day trips to England, Wales and Ireland. We stayed at many B&Bs and one airbnb. There were wonderful flower and vegetables gardens everywhere.
