We downsized and donated our a 6 ft. artificial tree and the boxes of ornaments/decorations. Now we just have a 15 inch Pre-Lit Hand-Painted Ceramic Tabletop tree and I did keep my wreath to put on our front door and that's all we do now. I generally put out out little tree and wreath on Thanksgiving day.

Do you do decorate a lot or do you do less now?

We do a lot less. We have boxes of ornaments, an artificial tree, etc. in the basement. All we do now is a Navy wreath as part of Wreaths Across America (buy one and donate one) and a tabletop tree we bought last year.

It is really hard for me to get rid of decorations because most were gifts from students over the last 45 years. But I need to do it instead of making my kids do it.

No, but I do have a menorah.

I always have a seasonal decoration on my front door. Winter will be a big cloth, jolly snowman.

I'm not religious, but I like the light it gives off. Mine will probably go up next week. If I had my way, it would be a "winter tree" that keeps the lights on until the time changes back again.

I don't want to decorate anymore, but my husband still likes to. Ditto for our adult kids. I told them, "Bah, humbug!"

after I retired and moved back to my house that I still kept up here in Texas, we did.

We even won a prize for best decorations

But now - nope.

I think all I will do is put up a wreath on the door.

I do like Christmas. I keep the tv on the hallmark channel for the Christmas movies, but that is it.

yes - my other half/roommate loved to decorate, but he was a pain about it. Always asking questions, telling me to get him this or that.

I figure, if you are going to take on a task - be prepared to do it all. Have all your parts ready to go, have a plan.

I don't understand - he was military and civil service - sheesh - I guess he didn't learn anything after 40 some years of military type service.

I refused to be his gopher.

I never won any prizes but I used to always have a nice tree and decorate for Christmas, the day after Thanksgiving. And THEN one year I had a kitten that could destruct an entire house if not restrained and I decided I was NOT going to fight her every day over a tree! So I didn't do it that year and it really felt kind of nice. Just skipping all the set up and then the clean up was nice. It's been years now since I did a tree or anything and I don't miss it. Every year I say I really should just donate all that 'stuff' but I never do so it sits in the garage gathering dust.
