At the moment i clicked, i was in tye 23% percentile with 25 respondents voting.
I have no problem saying im the "double nickle ", official to order off the "55 and older" menu although my gray beard has allowed me to for 5 years. ( theres another hint about me, i let my beard grow, kept neatly trimmed )
I was "officially retired " via medical (SSDI) at age 40, so i have felt reasonable able to reply here, though i understand tge younguns here looking for retirement advice. I wish i had had such a place to ask questions and see results when i wasin my 20s.
I attempted to work part time (allowed), but that didnt work out so well, ( standing for an 8 hour shift is rough with a bad back, hips and knees), still looking, preferably for a sit down job. I do have experience as an administrative Assistant, but that's at least 2 decades old, and times, they are a changin'.
Id like to be a medical office secretary. May have to go back to college for medical coding.

It certainly is sobering. I’m 81 and I can remember the dropping of the bomb and the ending of WW2.
So ladies, you plan on taking the association of age with female value to the grave? That "a lady never tells" thing is rooted in female oppression.
Anyhow, I'm 49 and actively planning my retirement.
