I am very interested in trying a metal detector. We live on the site of a former Indian village. I have found an obsidian scrapping tool that has been evaluated by archeologists and determined to be between 2,000 and 6,000 years old. Not sure that I can beat that. Our house was originally built in 1930 as a farmhouse. I recently found an old glass bottle that is purpling. Sure would like to give metal detecting a try.
My husband bought a really nice one just before the virus hit. He had planned to use it on the Island but the beaches were closed for quite a while and now it's pretty busy. Maybe someday he can try it out, he gets a kick out of things like that.
