Whoever said, "but it's a dry heat" was insane

Thankfully, we're hiding inside these days.

How long have you lived there? I hope you did due diligence before moving.

Don't touch anything metal when you get in your car. You'll burn your hand.

My retirement plan was to spend November to April in AZ, May to end of October in Germany. It worked out fine the two prior years. Covid 19 threw that plan down the drain this year, so have been stuck here in Tucson for the hot weather season. Luckily my apartment in Tucson is ground floor, windows facing mostly towards the north. I only need to turn on AC from about 4 to 8 or 9 pm, even today when the afternoon temp was 108F/42C.

I will stay in Tucson till September 1, then drive to Houston in order to drop off my car for shipment to Germany. I'll take a nonstop flight Houston to Frankfurt and rent a car to drive to my apartment in Halle (near Leipzig). Not sure if I have to quarantine when I arrive. My own car will arrive in Bremerhaven sometime in October. I'm going to give up the idea of hopping back and forth across the Atlantic each year, and will stay in Germany for 2-3 years instead. Plenty of stuff for me to do in Germany and other places in Europe.

It’s all in your head I’m sure. It takes time to get use to a new place.

I didn't realize you'd already moved here. Aw heck, 108 degrees isn't that bad. Wait until it hits 116. But seriously, if you haven't already had your A/C units checked out, you might want to do that before one goes on the fritz. It can take several weeks to get a repair person out during the worst of the heat.

And if you do go somewhere, take a frozen gallon jug of water with you. A freeway breakdown this time of year could be deadly.

That's very good advice. I'm not in Arizona but when the temp here gets about 110 in my part of the desert, I do my best not to drive anywhere unless I have to. At 110, I keep thinking the tires are going to start to melt, LOL.

I recommend a towel placed over the steering wheel when you park outdoors.
