I just checked the weather, temps are supposed to go to about 106 with humidity in the 10% range or less.

Wait until the first or second week of July!! The monsoons move in and the temps increase. You can expect temps to be over 110, maybe even over 115. Humidity is going to be in the 70% range. That doesn't sound like much in other parts of the country but wait until you feel what that means at 113 degrees.
^^^The above is the most accurate informational post.
I've lived in the Phoenix area since 1963 and enjoy every minute of it. When I moved here it was the middle of July and 107 degree and I was never happier.
The people that complain the most are those that still have swamp coolers where they are not very efficient/comfortable during the 6-8 week period of the humid monsoons.

This is what some people think of the desert but in reality it's one of the most beautiful deserts in the world.

Here it is 117, June 21, 2017, I remember posting it here too. To me 117 is no different than 120.

I used a swamp cooler until the beginning of July. Then I switched to an A/C unit.

I was doing serious (internet) research into retirement living in AZ, especially around Tucson, but the heat won out. I typically spend a couple of weeks every year or 2 in sw Utah, not in summer, & love the change in scene but too isolated & homogenous population there. I never really looked hard at Flagstaff though, in my mind too small & isolated & probably too far from medical specialists. But snowbirding in AZ may not be out of the question if financially possible.

It really is. I thought desert was desolate but the Sonoran Desert is beautiful in every season.

I'd like to throttle the idiots who set the fires in Cave Creek.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

I prefer green to brown every where. nothing but brown. and heat.

but I guess this is getting a little off topic. I will cease and desist.

I’ve lived in Phoenix since 1995 and as much as I enjoy it here, we’ll move to the Deep South within a few years. Sure, there are things I’ll miss but, we’ll be much happier In a rural setting closer to relatives...but not too close. Lol
