Sitting here, just thinking of what I wish I could do to improve my financial situation. `
I'm 80, single for many years, live alone in income based apartment.
I've always wanted a swimming pool. I love to swim, have used the area lakes (central NY state), but they are frequently closed for one reason or another. Where I live does not have a pool.
I knew a woman a long time ago who lived in a complex that had a very nice pool, she invited me once for a swim and it felt like heaven. However, she paid high rent where she lived, something I can't do.
So have been mulling over what options that are open to me and I thought playing the lottery could be an opportunity to win enough so I could move to an apartment complex that had a pool.
So what do you think? Good idea or just foolish thinking?
In my town we have indoor 3 pools at various complexes sponsored by the Parks and Recreation and the local community college. YMCA also. Lots of classes or free-time swimming offered. It snows here and we’re fortunate to have these options year round. Don’t you live in Syracuse NY? I thought that city was larger but maybe I’m wrong.

Thank you for writing. There are some pools open to the public in summer months. Mainly kids, lots of kids. I don't believe they would offer what I'm hoping to find.
Yes, live in suburb of Syracuse. I have trouble with the indoor pools. I tried the one at the YMCA but the chlorine did me in. And have found same problem with other indoor pools.
But there is always searching the internet, something I have not done yet. But plan to do that soon.

True, but the outdoor pools offer a lot of fresh air to lessen the effects of the chlorine.
At least for me.
