Shelato,

What I do now in my new house is spend lot of time after work in pool and rarely use AC unless necessary. When it cools off at night, I open windows and use the whole house fan. It uses less electricity and works well.

Oakland is too COLD in the Summer. Oakland doesn't really even have a real Summer.

Way too cold, never any decent Pool weather, and you would never swim in the horrible Bay, there are no decent beaches either for wading and leisurely summer swimming. Alameda is a joke for any decent leisurely real time summer swims, freeze your putooti-off most of the time. This is why San Diego blows out Oakland for any real time summer outdoor water enjoyment.

Sacramento has fresh water rivers and lakes for real time summer bbqs and swims. Not to mention, nothing better than a Sacramento summertime backyard Pool, way too cold to enjoy any of those in Oakland.

Hey Chim,

I get it and just soo thankful that I have a pool so jump in, cool off, jump in and repeat during the day. Also great to bbq with real charcoal coals and wood chunks for that smoke flavor. I've been experimenting with pecan and hickory wood with great results for ribs and so forth. Sacramento lacks a decent bbq joint and a rack of ribs is cheap and easy to make on the weber.

Amazing that soo few homes here have pools with the hot weather.

Absolutely gorgeous day in Sacramento today.

Again, Sacramento is Cooler than the Pacific Northwest.
As usual, Sacramento is 34 degrees Cooler than the Desert Southwest.

It’s that time of the year again for this thread to “highlight” temps between 8pm and 8am, say 102° is only a 98° heat index, and Phoenix, Fresno, Austin are all hotter than Sacramento.

Except for our relatively brief heat waves, I prefer Sacramento's climate over San Diego's. San Diego has way too much June gloom for my taste, and it exists in other months other than June. I like our sunny but usually cool mornings here with brilliant blue skies.
