Glad you brought up SD and the coast in general, I lived in SD as teenager, LA later. Truly the perfect climate, once you live there long enough, its' hard to adjust to any slight differences in climate.

San Diego: Pacific Beach can be fogged in, Ocean Beach, downtown, La Jolla not, downtown coolish, go just 5 miles east on the 8, gain 10-15 degrees. The fog/marine layer in SD doesn't make it feel "cold" like in SF. The ocean is warmer by 5-10 degrees, makes a big difference.

My nephew surfs SD everyday for exercise and fun, and follows the weather, ocean temps, wind, swells, tides, surf forecasts closely and tells me all about it.

If this is true then alls I can say is wow!

In Orlando during the summer my only hope to go out on a decent bike ride is about 7am and it is already somewhere between 75-79 degrees and the humidity is already present so the sweat starts right away. You guys probably do not get to 80 degrees until 11am-12pm. Throw in 1-2 hours from the Mountains and Lake Tahoe and I think we have a deal :-)

It depends. During the most recent heat wave earlier this month, the temp at 10 am in Folsom was 90 degrees. But typically, we hit the 90's in the mid afternoon. If I'm going to exercise outside in the summer, I do it at 6 am or earlier, or after 8 pm.

A little bit counter intuitive to people who aren't from the area. You head up to the foothills and see trees and rolling hills and it's...hotter? We were up in Loomis this weekend for a wedding and the dang place wouldn't cool down. Pretty area though!

I'm in Toronto, Canada right now, the temps is only 82 but with 40% humidty and it feels like a 100 degree day in SAC, it really does. My Toronto friends said they have been running the A/C 24/7 for over a week which is not unusual, and I can vouch for the last several days its been uncomfortably hot. I personally have felt dizzy and a bit overcome just by walking a few blocks in the morning here in Toronto.

The Toronto nights have been oppressively humid, A/C needed throughout the night.
88 and 42% humidity here right now, by the way. It was 102 yesterday. It really feels absolutely nothing like 102. Carrying about 50 pounds of stuff several blocks to my car in a suit I never once felt dizzy. Maybe it's because I'm used to the "great" 100 degree heat we get on a regular basis?
