You should move to a county with mountains, practically any county in Northeast California has mountains and hills.

Sonoma would be a wonderful place to live. I am originally from Santa Rosa and have lived in the Sacramento area for 16 years. My mom still lives in Santa Rosa and every time we visit her we stop in Sonoma and shop or picnic. If I could afford it I would LOVE to live there. The hills are nearby, the atmosphere is wonderful. Santa Rosa is still more expensive than Elk Grove but cheaper than Sonoma so you might want to consider there or city's surrounding that area.

It looks appealing. May look into that more, but I don't think it's the feeling I'm looking for exactly. I don't know if anything really compares to Sonoma, do you?

If anyone has anything horrible to say about Sonoma, please don't hold back. I want to hear it!
Sebastopol is a bit further, but well worth the time. They probably have everything you're looking for. Ive been all over Seattle, Sebastopol is awesome. Sonoma is bland. If you want the wineries go up to St Helena or better yet, Calistoga, Forget about Sonoma area...
