Are there any botanical gardens around here? I saw UC Davis has an arboretum, but I cannot seem to find any large public gardens. Also, I am interested in finding a garden fair and sale in the near future if anyone know of one. Thanks.

Go to Farmerfred.com to see local sales. His radio show is on weekends: AM 1530 from 8:30-10 and then from 10-12 on AM 650.

UCD has great gardens/arboretum. I also like the Fair Oaks Horticulture Center.

Try Shepard Garden in McKinley Park,3333 McKinley Boulevard. Here's a website listing their events:

Shepard Garden and Arts Center - Department of Parks and Recreation

There is an arboretum on the Sacramento State campus, until recently named the Goethe Arboretum, along the north end of campus nearest J Street.

I'd also recommend visiting Capitol Park, well-known for its gardens and exotic plant life.

I know it's nice to find stuff close to home, but the Arboretum at UCD is great. There's not so much packed into one area, it makes you walk a couple miles to really see it all, which is a bonus to me.
