Also, they require natural grass, is anyone old enough to remember what happened when Roy Holfeinz tried to grow grass inside a dome?

The best shot for MLS in SA is Alamo Stadium. It's the perfect size and SAISD could make some money off of the team as well.
Great example of "When you want to find excuses.... you'll find them somewhere"

- There's still several MLS teams playing in non-soccer specific stadiums.
New England Revolution = Patriots stadium (Cap. 68,000)
Seattle Sounders = Seahawks stadium (Cap. 67,000)

- Seattle Sounders' stadium doesn't have grass
Crew undecided if Schelotto will play on Seattle turf | Major League Soccer

Any other excuses?

BTW, Kansas City Wizards is playing in a minor league baseball stadium until their soccer stadium is finished.

I wouldn't say I made an "excuse," I actually offered an "option." Alamo Stadium would fit the MLS preferred stadium setting, open air, 20,000-25,000 seats, natural grass.

By the way, New England is in the process of obtaining land for a soccer specific stadium and Seattle is planning to switch to grass when the MLS confirms the official rule.

San Antonio will not be awarded an MLS team in the Alamodome, that's a guarantee. It's not open air, it's too big, and it doesn't have grass.

KSAT-12 is going to be talking about the bat poop tonight! Not sure if it's at 5 or 6.

Okay it's either 6 or 10, because it sure wasn't at 5!

According to their website, the Alamodome "(m)eets or exceeds access requirements outlined by the Americans with Disabilities Act." That said, I don't know what provisions they have, but I don't think they could make that statement if they weren't complaint.

I bet anything that they care more about money than the things that you mentioned.

All the handicap parking is in Lot A which is on the south side on the same side of the railroad tracks as the dome. So no need to navigate those steps and walkways under the tracks. I don't think there is any general parking there, only handicap and VIP.

Other than that I think the facility is pretty normal, there are a few elevators to get to the various levels and handicap seating areas making it ADA compliant.

I know I'm an oddball around here but I like the dome. From our house we just see the top of it and at night it looks striking. My 4 yo used to call it a ship (I guess she's envisioning large sails...)

I've never parked there tho, only walked so just came across the parking lot or the bridge from HemisFair. So can't comment on the tunnels.

I love the way it looks ever since they built it.

Just do not like at all what it represents. It looks wonderful though. Do they ever raise the roof? I have never seen it once with the roof elevated.

I am aware of 311.

The media (I posted above KSAT-12 did a story on it) has since gotten involved, and the City has promised to clean it up and seal the holes.

We'll see.
