I think people move out to the Dominion to be extra secluded. It has its own private security force patrolling around with radar guns handing out tickets and the only problems you really see there is domestic violence and bratty kids tagging on stuff. But the nicest architecture I've seen personally was in Terrell Hills except for one house that looked like the Taj Mahal in The Dominion.

Look, there has been no house listed ever in MLS over $6million in Dominion and the one that has been listed at that price is that huge 12,000sq ft white monster in the newer section. And you can list a house for any amount of money. Doesn't mean that is what it is worth.

All of those homes are under $4 million and The Dominion is in there several times, so I don't see your point.

Point was is that your list only included houses for sale if I'm reading it right.

You posted the same list (I don't know why you moved it), so my point still stands. The Dominion is right there in the mix with Alamo Heights, Terrell Hills, Olmos Park, and the other old money neighborhoods. According to the income map, those neighborhoods aren't even the wealthiest. That list can't be accurate either because all of the houses are under $4 million when we know there are other houses in San Antonio that are worth more.

Never mind, it's not the same list. Sorry. This one shows that the Dominion has a house that is almost $9 million, so my point still stands though.

Home values alone cannot measure affluence. There is an older thread discussing old money vs new money in town.

"Old Money" vs. "New Money" parts of the San Antonio area

What do you think about the income maps? Some areas surprisingly don't look all that impressive, but at the same time, the nice neighborhoods inside the loop tend to have a mixture of classes.

It doesn't matter. People often travel across town to party. I was surprised to see more black people than anyone else at Joe's Volcano which is by Ingram Park Mall. I'm guessing like myself, most of the people drove from the other side of town. I will never go back to that ghetto, trashy club.
