The latest newsletter from District 9 Councilwoman Elisa Chan says this branch will be known as the Parman Branch.

She also mentions that one of her goals is to get an agreement to build yet another library branch in the district. (District 9 is North Central, stretching roughly from the Witte Museum on Broadway to Stone Oak.)

from what i heard though, she wants the library on the east side of 281 in the encino area. She wants someone to donate the land though, as they did with the Parman branch. What are the chances lighting will strike twice?

Can not wait for the parman library to open. It really sounds like it will be an incredible project -- not just a library, but trails, a playground, ampitheater, etc. We will use it a lot.

Our neighborhood (We live in one of the neighborhoods past the Original Encino Park) was asked to fill out surverys answering questions about how much we use the library and if we would use one in Encino Park. (That was back in the fall) We go often and would LOVE to have one right here!

Found out today that there's a fundraising web site for the Stone Oak Library. The Parman Library at Stone Oak

The branch will open later this year. This web site will probably be a good one to keep an eye on if you want updates as that time draws closer.

FYI, the Bannwolf Library (at Reagan High School) will be closing to the public on May 29 now that Parman is taking over. They are having a farewell ceremony Sunday May 1 at 3pm.

My daughter was saddened by this news since I've been taking her there since she was a toddler, but at least she'll get to see it again when she goes to Reagan.
We look forward to patronizing the Parman Library.
