A Decade of the Internet (http://news.yahoo.com/s/ynews_deca/ynews_deca_ts997 - broken link)

Over the past 10 years, the phenomenal growth of the Web has fundamentally changed the way we live, work and communicate. In November, a Pew Research Center study showed some startling changes in how we use the Internet:

- 2000: 46% of adults used the Internet
- 2009: 77-79% of adults use the Internet

- 2000: 5% of households had broadband
- 2009: 63% of households have broadband

- 2000: 0% connected to Internet wirelessly
- 2009: 54-56% connect to the Internet wirelessly...(more (http://news.yahoo.com/s/ynews_deca/ynews_deca_ts997 - broken link))
Moore's Law in action! Ain't it great?

Cheers! M2

Do people just not have ANY manners anymore? Seriously? We have a camping trailer listed for sale on craigslist. Somebody just called about it. THREE TIMES, cuz we didn't answer the phone. It's freakin' almost 10:00pm! Are you KIDDING me?!!! So rude. They won't be getting a call back tomorrow. (With 4 other people scheduled to come see it tomorrow/Saturday, we don't need any "behinds" showing up!)

And that story about the purse snatchers! Oh. My. Freakin. GOSH!!!!!

well Jules, you did put an ad on craigslist. Maybe say something like "no calls after 10:00pm".

My niece is doing an internship in Brooklyn right now....she got mugged (sorta kinda) by a 10 year old! She was walking out of the place she is staying, saw a kid beating the hell out of another kid so she told him to stop...he did, proceeded to call her every name in the book, reached up and grabbed her purse and her netbook bag and ran like hell. Well, karma is a sweet thing.....she's been giving change to this homeless guy that sits out there--he hauled ass and caught the kid! Brought him back by the scruff of his neck and she got her stuff back. My mom has that 'sixth sense' thing and called her the minute her stuff was back in her hands. She was shaking and upset but OK. Happy ending but my niece is just flabbergasted that the kid was so young and so callous.
