Yep Dillard's was there. Building still is. It's been a pharmacy and a health club ...CPS had a part of it. Brittany Buffet between it and Sears. May have became a Luby's for a short time...

In the on-going question about the Flame and Frontier, I called my Mom and asked her if she remembered anything about it. She remembers there was "a hamburger joint" there before Frontier, but can't remember what it was called. She also had a drawer full of matchbook covers from places we ate at over time, and sent me the ones from the Broadway strip. SInce we seem to talk about Broadway a lot I thought I'd pass these on. Lots of memories here:

Leslie’s Fried Chicken at 4020 Broadway
The Big Tree at 3617 Broadway (next to Park Motel)
Big Orange at 2206 Broadway
ChatterBox a block off Broadway on Josephine St. next to the Wreslethon
Chicken Shack at 4020 Broadway
Christies at 3130 Broadway
Chuck Wagon at 1924 Broadway
Damon’s (later the Bean Pot) at 110 Austin Hwy
The Drumstick at 1260 Austin Hwy
El Rancho at 5412 Broadway
Fifty-Fifty Buffet at 5050 Broadway
Fontana’s at 1815 Broadway
Gene & Ted’s at 1230 Broadway
La Louisiane at 2632 Broadway
Youngblood’s Chicken at 2415 Broadway
Tai Shan at 2611 Broadway
Toddle House at 2303 Broadway
Westerner at 1122 Austin Hwy

Hmmm... The location where La Louisiane, which is now Picante Grill, is 3810 Broadway. Before that building was constructed, Rolando's Supertacos occupied the location. That structure was raised to build the building currently there.

The Broadway 50/50 has changed hands *at least* 4 times since 1998.

There was also a Bonanza Steakhouse on "lower" Broadway.

Well the matchbook cover has 2632 Broadway on it and there's an old postcard from La Louisiane on E-bay right now that says 2632, so I'll stick with that.

I remember La Louisiane became "Jazz Cafe"? Back in the '90s?

Well my old brain remembers La Louisiane being right about here. Seems like it was straight across from Ave B.

2632 broadway san antonio tx - Google Maps

I hardly recognize Broadway on google. Rolando's .... I just can't recall where it was exactly. Not like I frequented the area that much though. I do know one thing for sure. Back in the early 60's just north or the kiddie park you could rent Yamaha's, Suzuki's, Bridgestones you name it. You knew this was a military city.

Wonder what this dude did...??

The businesses I frequented most on Broadway were Christies, Mexiteria, Intercontinental Motors VW which later became Lone Star Volkswagen, the Broadway Theatre, and the Lubys next door to the Broadway Theastre. Whenver we went to see a movie at the Broadway, we ate at Lubys first.

Ok, I got my Louisiana food mixed up.... The exact address of Rolando's Super Tacos was at 3802 Broadway. The building sat parallel to Broadway. It was dozed and the replacement, which is now Picante Grill bears the address 3810 Broadway. Now for the Louisiana connection-- The first place to open once the new building opened was a place called The Lost Cajun. It was later replaced by the short-lived Mo's BBQ, which has since been replaced by Picante Grill.
