I've noticed this kind of thing at a number of dining establishments over the years. I'm guessing they don't want to have (what is probably limited during off-peak hours) waitstaff running back and forth across the dining room to serve only a couple or so tables. Restaurants will often assign a few tables in a concentrated area to a single waitperson.

Just went to the new Perry's Steakhouse at La Cantera. Had the chateaubriand for two. It was incredible. Great flavor, super tender. The service was great and the restaurant itself is very nice. My buddy said it didn't feel like we were in San Antonio.

Sadly, I refuse to share the chateaubriand with my wife, who likes her steak well-done. I'd be almost embarrassed o order omething like that. Had to go in with a buddy of mine since he likes it medium rare, too. The way steak was meant to be eaten.

Tried the Corner Cafe on Stone Oak. It's like a Jason's but with breakfast.

The French toast was decent. They still need some work on service. The people who deliver the food and the number system are not related. Many of them wandering around with no clue who gets what.

My order walked past me several times, till I intervened. The server argued and I needed a manager to figure it out. Numbers were totally off.

Chatman's Chicken. 1747 S W.W. White Rd.The chicken was not greasy and the skin was not rubbery like many places. Not sure what kind of oil they use, but this was the best fried chicken I have eaten in a while.

Acenar -- has anyone been there? Thought it was pretty good for dropping in without knowing anything about it.
