It will post a departure time once a flight plan is filed. KTSA reported they were going to be on the ground for about two hours to refuel.

It now shows a scheduled departure time of 11:10 headed to Columbus AFB in Mississippi.

The thing is so darn heavy probably doesn't matter which direction it takes off on. Pure engine and thrust. However, the wording probably meant that it will take off south, then turn and head north.

Yep, watched it take off (to the south) about 20 minutes ago. Sucker barely lifted off the ground and was slowly gaining altitude before it was out of sight. I guess I am used to the F-16s and even the C-5s that leave Kelly, the former break left or right before they are even pass the end of the runway. FRED, they're a little bit slower...

I got a video of the departure, I will post it up later this evening. There were large crowds both inside and outside the fence, word sure does get out quick!
