Thirsty turtle on 410 and (I think) Wurzbach. It is right next to bar b q station (which is also really good).

Park - Friedrich - out on I-10. I am not sure if people know about it or not. My wife and I stumbled upon it several years agon when I was in law school and we absolutely love the hiking trails.

Eatery- Henry's puffy tacos.

Harry Wurzbach and 410 for the thirsty turtle...or "the turtle" as we call it.

Use said it, Taco Land was the ULTIMATE dive - sleazy alright, but not dangerous-sleazy, especially with Ram lumbering around, grouchily watching for troublemakers - "Kiss the baby!" BTW, ever hear the Dead Milkmen song about Taco Land - classic.

Are you sure Arandas is on Military Drive? I just did a google on "Arandas Mexican Food San Antonio" and didn't get any hits on Military.

Yeppers, we stop there twice per week to p/u taco order for our offices (DH and I)...the phone number is 637-6707...DH normally calls in the order at 6:30 am and by the time he is there from Westcreek, they are ready and waiting for him...I go into WHMC MUCH earlier, so he will p/u and drag in to me...you can get a huge plate of good food for less than $5.00! PLUS, they just built a drive thru, so you don't even have to get out of the car...almost directly across the street from the Dunkin Donuts, can't miss the LOVELY yellow-orange building the HUGE bull on the sign!

It probably doesn't qualify as a dive but our friends just introduced us to Betos on Broadway and their chicken empanada was great - I've actually thought about it several times since.

Paka, I just tried to call and I got an aswering machine. It didn't sound like a business phone message. Are you sure about the number? Do you have an address. That may be within lunchtime driving range for me and we have been looking for a different place for Mexican Food on Fridays. We always do Apetitos on Friday's and although it's very good we are just getting a little burned out after several years. This sounds like it may be a good candidate.

I am SO sorry, and dyslexic! The number is 673-6707...and that is a good number, PROMISE!!!!!

If you go to Apetitos, you will be within driving distance of Arandas, it is very close. The address is 7055 W Military Dr, again almost directly across the street from the Dunkin Donuts on Military Drive.

The official name is Taqueria Arandis, but everyone just calls it Arandis.
3 taco for $2.25 and a lunch that will have you rolling out of there for $5.00.

I have been to Apetitos, and I really prefer the food at Arandis, but of course, that is a personal preference...have never had a bad meal at Apetitos either!
