Try to guess where's the largest owner of AM and FM stations in the United States...
Right across the Quarry Market = Clear Channel Communications

Here's the list of radio stations that they own in San Antonio:
Clear Channel - San Antonio Radio Stations
92.5 The Outlaw
Mix 96.1 FM
KJ-97.3 FM
Q 101.9FM
104.5 Classic Radio
Sport Radio 760AM
WOAI 1200AM

And in my experience, San Antonio seems to get the most homogenized versions of what Clear Channel is serving up around the country. Each station on that list has a version of its format that is like food with minimal seasoning that was run through a blender and served at room temperature.

Just because it's across from the Quarry Market doesn't mean that it's quality media. Blandness is brought to you by a number of conglomerates that follow an overly conservative and play it until you hate it playlist. Kind of like the school lunchroom - it's edible mostly. But definitely not something you want to consume, especially if you had the choice of anything else out there.

I gave up on radio and moved to podcasts and satellite. Neither my wife or I bothered to change any of the presets from what we had in Seattle on either car (and I only used 3 of them anyway), and it's been almost two years already. Much better music, plus new and interesting things all the time. But FM radio vs. FM radio, BJ Shea and The Adam Carolla show blow anything San Antonio morning radio has to offer away. Same for The Men's Room in the afternoon - there's a reason why those shows (although TACS is online now) are so popular and people voulentarialy tune in.

My point is that anybody here can stop by and talk to them about it

By the way,
I've noticed the same problem with LaKalle 95.1FM,
they only play about 3 reggaeton singers and Shakira, that's about 90% of the music they play.
And it's funny that they never play "Calle 13", the biggest reggaeton singer around... I bet it has to do with some things that he said before (do your own research about it)

Man, that's the truth. They could come up with the most awesome format ever known to man and I still wouldn't get excited about it because the owners have always changed that station every 6 months to a year. This latest format has FAIL written all over it.

I really doubt they would listen much to random people who come in letting them know their programming is bland. My voice is expressed through my selection of other programming.

I have to spend $12 a month for XM radio to express my opinion.
I'll be happy the day that people are allowed to vote to pick the programming of at least 3 radio stations.
