I recently moved here from OC and love it! I thought I was giving things up in order to have a big house and work less but that was far from the truth. Everyone is very friendly, there are more restaurants and stores than you can imagine and it is all set in the middle of a beautiful landscape. It does get hotter than 90 here but it hasn't been unbearable. The nightlife is rather slow but there is a great Irish bar down from the street from us and there is always something going on at Pechanga.

Traffic is the only con, however, I work from home so that isn't a problem for me.

If you have a family, this is an incredible city to live and raise your kids. If you are single, not so much. However you can still drive to San Diego in about an hour.

As far as the bad traffic and bad air that makes you want to vomit?????????? I have lived here four years, and that description is from a troll looking for a rise out of people.... Temecula is a great city, I LOVE living here. Every city has its Pro's and cons..Here I get a sense of Community, and it has everything I need. Great Schools, Shopping, Restaurants, Wine Country, a Casino, Old Town, Great neighborhoods, excellent value for the money.

The weather is hot two months out of the year, the rest is warm, but you get breezes from the gap in the mountains to the sea. If you are looking for a great city to raise a family this is it.

I just wanted to say Thanks to everyone for the updates. I'm sure there is a group of people like me monitoring sites like this that talk about Temecula and the surrounding areas. We will be moving out sometime next year and are doing our research now. Thanks again.

My university educated IQ senses that you are not being totally truthful with us when you say you are only here to find out info on temecula because it would seem that most of what you do is complain and whine (no, not wine...whine). and although you say you are not interested in me, i sense a growing attraction to me on your part since you continue to tempt me with your "lengerie" and smokey european accent. stop it! i'm married! i would also like to apologize to the ballroom dancers for associating you with europeans (sorry twinkle toes). now if you'll excuse me, i have to inform my wife that i don't have a vagina and that she doesn't no how to buy comfortable shoes. she'll be so disappointed to find out her birkenstocks and new balances will have to go.
Thanks for this. That Boobheadurua13 is an annoyiing twit.

I'm concerned about the quarry - not quite sure what's up with it at this point. However, Temecula has good air quality. The afternoon breeze is great.

31 st state...finally somebody, who is concerned about the quarry..

i try to find out more about the quarry...if you have articles please post them,i want to be informed..
TEMECULA: Report says quarry would affect air quality, traffic

and regarding the air quality..air quality is compared to other areas superior...but for me is bad....not so bad as somewhere else, but i think the air is still bad,not good enough for me..my opinion compared to north california...anyway we will get a station to monitor air pollution in temecula valley and we will be able to find out FACTS,FACTS...i like facts, not bla,bla...i try to make research,be best informed, read newspapers, hear radio, talk to people...

http://www.pe.com/localnews/temecula/stories/PE_News_Local_D_smonitor02.22bc70f.html (broken link)

i am shocked, how clueless people in this town are (honest opinion)..liberty quarry??????they ask me...really?????we did not know that..they are embarassed..they should be...it is a shame to be such an ignorant and not be informed about your town and what is going on in it...

Yes the Liberty Quarry is a concern, and I hope it does not come to pass. However, the links you posted are from a group attempting to stop it...as a result they will stress every doomsday scenario out there.

You can also find info debunking most of them as "Myth". I believe the truth lies somewhere in between.

The truth is there are aggregate quarries all over Southern California. Near San Diego,, Riverside and there is one in nearby Fallbrook (not far from the proposed quarry).

I don't want the quarry, and there is no guarantee it will go forward. However, I do not believe it will destroy the quality of life here....

As for the air quality? It is far better then the majority in So Cal. You can see and feel the difference.

I have no vested interest on this thread, so I am not being overly positive..I am simply expressing a personal opinion...those that seem to be focused on all the perceived negatives are doing the same. Living here is a choice...a choice I have made..a choice I do not regret. I hope each one of you finds the same satisfaction and comfort, wherever you choose to call home.

Regards,
