Maybe when companies realize that a good portion of their employers are commuting from the area.

I've seen it happen in other metropolitan areas (when the jobs move to where the people live), it would be very good for Temecula/Murrieta to lose commuting as its main industry.

davehalo great post! I too do the commute from Temecula to Mission valley (Aero Drive) I have 2 children as a single parent and I still wouldn't have it any other way. I moved from the east coast and when I was looking Temecula was just a better fit for me. it takes about 50 minutes most days to get to my destinations to and from but Fridays and holiday evening traffic does suck! I don't have alot of friends here and no family but I would suggest if you have kids to have someone pick them up at those times. I know I'd never be able to buy what I like in San Diego, and there's just much more suitable options in Temecula. I love it in Temecula and I am hoping that I'll get a new position within my agency where I can telecommute.

Temecula freeway exits are horrible and Temecula is more expensive than 5 mins down the freeway. If you exit on say the 79 plan on adding 10 plus mins to your drive then it depends on how many lights you have to go thru every day. It could take 25 mins once you are off the freeway after your 55 min drive to get in the driveway. I would look at Tuscany Hills or Canyon Lake. More bang for the buck and better views.
