Yeah I was getting a physical inspection done on a place I'm buying in Lemon Grove. Holy crap was it hot but it was a nice change. Gave me a chance to test out the ventilation on the place too. It's on a hill so the breeze was glorious.

Summer officially started for me today because I finally went into the ocean (sans a wetsuit) for the first time this year, and let me tell you it was glorious and refreshing!!

I went to the north end of La Jolla Shores, just south of the pier and it was perfect! No wind, no seaweed, no clouds, warm water temps (it was at least 70 degrees), clear waters and decent waves. I couldn't ask for anything more.

Here are the official water temps from the NWS @ 4:00PM today -

I'm sorry, but this heatwave just can't be ignored. Just when I thought yesterday was hot enough, today it was even hotter. Check out the official highs from today, especially inland

I'm in Escondido and it's been warm for sure, even had a rattlesnake by my front door on Friday, no joke.

I'll take this heatwave over cold and rainy though any day.

All I can say is that you all should be glad that they disabled it, because I'd be Neg Repping all of you crazy heat lovers right now. I'm hot, I'm cranky, and I don't have A/C! My house is 90 degrees right now, and when I go to bed it will probably still be 80 degrees.

Neg Reps for everyone! Cuz nothing helps a bad mood better than spreading it around.

Bring back the June Gloom. If it was gloomy, and cool 90% of the year, I'd be happy.

sign me,
and cranky

Is summer ever going to start along the coast? July 4th sucked, it was overcast and very misty most of the day. It's been below normal for weeks and it looks like it's going to stay that way too. And of course Aloha Taylor and her excellent forecasts of 80's at the beach Tues and Wed and it barely even cracked 70 and the sun maybe came out for a few minutes. It's god damn almost mid July already, where the hell is the sun and warmth? I'm sick of this weather, I want it sunny and warm already

It's probably because I'm still a noob to SD, but I am loving this temperate weather! I keep talking to my buddies back in NYC, and I am so glad that I'm not dealing with the humid, muggy mid-90s weather, with the occassional thunderstorms on the weekends. I'm able to plan to go golfing every weekend here, and I'm never going to get rained out, and I'm not going to faint from the heat/humidity. It's perfect!

Besides, I work up in LA (downtown, so a bit inland), and drive home to San Diego every weekend. I tell ya, there is nothing I love more than getting in my car here, seeing the temperature gauge read 90+, and then driving down the coast and see the temperature is a nice 76 degrees as I pull into my garage in downtown SD.

I know I'm still new here, but this weather is PERFECT!

-JG

I agree w/you John. Up to 80 is okay but after that it is too hot (unless you are at the beach). I love the weather we get (upper 70's) in San Diego.

I don't know about you guys, but I am enjoying the gloomy days lately. It feels refreshing. I just think SD is too darn sunny.

To me, this summer seems more "normal" for S.D. Sometimes "June gloom" carries into July, and the 4th is actually very gloomy, then around 7/15-7/20, the heat sets in, the clouds go away, and it basically stays warm through September. The last few summers prior to this one have been unusually hot. I'm sure the heat is coming
