Population in the Bay Area is growing. Oakland has gained 30k since the 2010 census and here's a recent article on SF and the Bay area as a whole. Don't listen to what everybody says. Look at the stats.

All you have to look at is the demand for housing, really. If more people were leaving than arriving, housing prices would start coming down. This is what happened during the mortgage melt-down around 2008, etc.

When that happened, all of a sudden, apartment complexes were advertising deals - a month free rent, no credit checks, on and on.

That is the true indicator. So, if housing prices are still going up - hello, demand = no shortage of people looking for housing = there must be just as many people arriving as leaving, if not more so.

Well said. And I agree that it really gets old.

I see lot of discussion going both ways with a few whiners like you saying how tired they are of it. Like I've told others, use the ignore feature if certain posters bother you, even when they reside in ca.
Here's a novel approach, ignore going into those threads. If California is so perfect why are you spending time here getting defensivel about it?
Part of the reason some people post things you don't like is to watch you and a few others get triggered which evidently is not hard. If you think California is so great why should a few posters get who so bent, unless you are insecure about how great California is. I'll bet the story of the Emporer' new clothes hits a nerve with you.
Many people have this perception that some Californians are arrogant and think they are better than everyone else in the country. I don't believe that's 100 percent true, but someone like you who is trying to talk down to me in you response certainly fits the bill.
Meh

Oh great, more Americans being displaced by foreigners. Nothing to be proud of here. What has this country come to?

Oh, come on now. Eventually they also become Americans, too.

"They are moving to FL, it's cheap and affordable there, No State Income Tax, lot's of good jobs, cheap housing, better tech hub than SF Bay Area, lot's of start-ups and venture capital flowing".

Riiiight. Clearly you are very young and likely do not now how America was a few decades ago. Assimilation moves very slowly in our now Balkanized state where people feel no pressure to speak English let alone try to be American in all other ways. After all, we discourage assimilation. Assimilation is racism or so the mantra goes.
